Abstract
It is human mind that has inseparable relation from the spirit, like the relation of body and mind. Roman Catholic Church has a long history of theory and practice about mental illness and mentally disabled people by a variety of therapeutic forms in the view of theological virtues. In this article, we overview the historical roots of spiritual psychotherapy and deal with the theological background in the terms of Roman Catholic Church. In addition, we review the role, limitation and possibility of Catholic spiritual psychotherapy in clinical psychiatric aspects in brief.
